Here are your morning announcements for Tuesesday March 21nd, 2023. 

*The announcements posted today reflect those which were read this morning. Please be aware that changes could occur during the day (cancellations, etc.) and we might not be able to amend them.  


First Half- Red, Orange, Black and White classrooms will report to cafeteria during the first half of lunch. The grade level groups from blue, purple, yellow and green teams will report to target locations using the Courtenay Bay Doors   

Second Half- Blue, Purple, yellow and green will report to cafeteria and grade level groups from Red, Orange, Black and white will be in their assigned areas using the back doors near the gym. 


Target Locations: This week the grade 8 groups will report to the gym, grade 6 groups will report to the Courtyard and grade 7 groups will report to the field/Courtney Ave side of the building.  


Rotation Flow Chart: Gym --> Courtyard --> Field --> Gym 


Our grade 8 classes will be eating in their homerooms during their designated eating time this weekStaff, please follow the duty rotation sent out. 


Clubs & Activities: Only announce today and tomorrow’s clubs  

Monday 

  • Dungeons & Dragons Club: Please note the change in location.  We will meet on Mondays in Mr. Carpenter’s room 114. Don’t forget to bring your lunch. 

  • There will be a new club in the computer lab at lunch for students interested in Animation!   

  • Band – Trumpets  

  • Gardening club today in room 312. New members welcome! 

Tuesday 

  • Activities ClubCancelled March 21. Room 237, Bring your lunch and stay for the hour. 

  • Culture Club: Come and hang out for the whole lunch hour in Mrs. Welch’s classroom.  

  • Sports Club: in Mr. Walls classroom today during the whole lunch hour. 

  • Yearbook – room 325 

  • Band- Woodwinds, Baritone and Bass sectional 

  • Fitness Club – If you are looking to get a workout done at school and let out some energy, see Mr. Long to book your spot in the fitness room for next Tuesday.  

Wednesday 

  • 3D Print Club No 3D print club this week as the grade 8s are eating in their classes 

  • Renaissance Team: will be meeting in room 309 (Mr. Wall’s classroom) during the second half of lunch today.  

  • Art Clubbring your lunch, stay for the hour. 

  • Choir – At lunch in the music room.  

  • Band – Full Band Rehearsal after school 

  • Heritage Fair- Participating students please meet in Mr. Robinson’s room at the start of lunch for a check in 

 

Thursday 

  • GSA – GSA is cancelled this week because Mrs. Shannon is out of the building. I can’t wait to see everyone next week!  

  • Band Percussion  

  • Woodworking Club  

  • Cheerleading/teacher practice in room 112 in the basement 

Friday 

  • Drama Club: No drama club this week as the grade 6s are eating in their homerooms. 

  • Tech Crew – meet in the music room at lunch 

  • The computer lab will be open

BAYSIDE ATHLETICS: 

 
Cheerleading: Congratulations to the team who placed 2nd in their competition over the weekend! They also took home the award for best jumps and Taylor Train won the all-star award! 

Practice Thursday after school from 3-5:30.  

Basketball:  

Please pay your Basketball athletic fee on Cashless Schools. Thank you.  

Volleyball:  

JV Girls: Last tryout Tuesday, March 21th 3-5pm, practice Wednesday & Thursday 3:00-4:30pm. See the list for the names. 

Varsity Girls: Practice Monday, March 20th 4:30-6pm, Wednesday and Thursday 3:00-4:30pm 

Varsity Boys’ Volleyball Practice- today, Tuesday 3:00-4:30pm and Wednesday, 4:30-6pm. 

JV Boys’ practice Thursday March 23rd from 4:30-6:00pm. 

Co-Ed Flag football:  

Next practice is Monday, March 27th from 6-8pm.  

Renaissance Item of the day: Only announce the corresponding day 

 

Tuesday: Guess Who?  No one guessed that Mrs. McClure was last week’s guess who. This week we have a Saint John native, who has a pet apple tree, and a best friend made out of wood. You can often find them watching Hermit-craft videos or listening to music. Who are they?
